Four Girls

The four of us chase the sun

With our picnic blankets

And our munch

We toss fruit

Eat to our hearts’ content

And let the juices run 

Down to our elbows

Our laughter ebbs the shadows

And I am thankful

I am grateful that girlhood

Led us here

To womanhood with the sun

And laughter on our lips
