Have You Noticed?
By RJ Barduhn
The usage of women as shields
in the middle of your heated altercation
translates as another form of hatred.
These ‘women’ you call bitches
are young girls under a spell
containing ingredients
specifically curated
for an undeveloped palate.
The easiest route is smoothed out in naivety.
A clean slate is better than one full of signals.
It’s the decked-out chameleon skin
He’s slipped over himself
to claim he’s her mentor.
A true educator draws a line
but he’s cast his line
purposely chosen a bait
glistening for the inexperienced.
All I see is a gutted worm.
All she sees is a diamond.
All rooted in power.
All about worship.
Some crave the untouched clay.
The ability to mould within his desires
Beneath his fingertips dipped in the pot of greed.
Expect the boredom
Following after
Once her skin sweats the memories
she’ll grow to resent later in life.
It’s only a matter of time
Before the same ol’ words
The same ol’ tricks
The same ol’ gestures
Are brought into the light.
A ribbon cut.
A statue unveiled.
A face unmasked.
Your mark is noticed.
