Maybe I Should Have A Daughter

By Ode

Maybe I should have a daughter

With my dark eyes or hair

Sharing the same genes and habits

Some are contorted and some refined

Through her, I’ll atone for my all regrets

and the millions of jilted dreams

While causing more pains

That will be healed with the passing of days

I’ll show her how to follow the internet trends

As she could genuinely understand

And teach her to talk about parties and pretty boys

Like she would be truly satisfied

I’ll tell her to trust no confession

Nor any words vowed and elevated

But when love, love with determination

And without reciprocation expected

I’ll teach her how to survive in a world

That is dominated by men and the white

And defend her fragility using her integrity

And ridibund nature as a weapon

My fleeting and trifling being

Draws nearer to infinity in her heart’s beating

While the curse of death

Imposed on her before her first breath
