I Love You, So Much

By Olivia Sirley

It felt like an eclipse, every kiss

Never known a love like his

Years of holding on, song after song

The dream came true

I was able to learn and love every part of you

Yet this fairytale fell through

What can one do, when we both knew

The end was due

Waves – of emotion

Memories – emerging in my head – all in slow motion

Late-night dances to Aretha Franklin

Playing on the beach like kids, like no one’s watchin’

Holding me, like time is non-existent

My love for you is persistent – it’s loud, it's insistent

Parallel – no matter what happens – our story of love is one to tell
